Dublin Dr. Pepper is no more. There is now a petition to bring it back.

Y’know, this isn’t just about the drink - it’s about Dublin. The Dublin Dr. Pepper bottling plant has been a Texas institution for a long time (over a hundred years!), and even though it will stay in business producing other sodas and even though cane-sugar Dr. P will still be made (now by the Dr. P parent company), the iconic Dublin Dr. Pepper is gone. The Dublin plant may have broken the rules of their contract, but they were a small business and it’s always sad to see those in a battle with a large corporation. Without the Dr. Pepper name, I seriously doubt the Dublin plant will make the kind of money or create the kind of jobs it once did. In a small town (Dublin population is just under 4k), that’s a big deal.

I’m going to miss their stubby striped bottles.
